Special design for electricity meter testing

A special design whose construction and implementation was realized far from any standard solutions. The test fixture has been developed to meet specific customer specifications and requirements. The measurements are carried out in the high current range and include a complex function test (FCT) for testing electricity meters.

The fixture is designed for high current measurement and includes a wide range of functions:

• Query via light sensors
• Checking function keys
• Contact engineering of the programming interface
• Integration of scanners
• Position queries via sensors incl. safety system

The test specimen is placed in the fixture via a lateral drawer system. After loading and closing, a safety interlock prevents the fixture from opening during the test process. This function ensures additional safety for the operator. Pneumatic locking and simultaneous contacting of the high-current contacts takes place. Built-in pneumatic cylinders check the position and correct it if necessary. The contacts are aligned with the DUT on a linear guide and include push-button actuation. After microswitch actuation in the assembly, the test process ends and the DUT can be removed.
